關於《空氣蛹》
“空氣蛹”是日本作家村上春樹小說《1Q84》中象征“邪惡力量”的一個意象,在我的解 讀里有更多非其本意的的含義。村上的《1Q84》是對英國作家喬治·奧威爾完成於 1948 年的政 治體小說《1984》的某種回應與致敬。 由此可見,文化的傳播與演變就像生命體的繁衍與進化 一樣,生命體的復制密碼是基因,而文化傳播的密碼則是米姆“meme”(此概念由理查德·道金 斯於 1976《自私的基因》中提出)。人類的文化之所以會在人類意識中復制、輻射、演變都因為 其中這稱之為“meme”的文化基因具有的作用力。
此書所探討的議題並非文化基因的“復制性”,而是探討文化在長時間流傳中的“演變”, 它 像一趟跨越文字與圖像的文化考古之旅。過程中我發覺文化的“演變”有時會變得非常荒謬,例 如哲學家蘇格拉底的一句話:“田野與樹木沒有給我一點啟發,而城市的人們卻賜給我頗多教益。” 這句話對反城市化群體是過時且失效的,但是對中國高速城市化進程的當下而言又非常寫實。現 實中諸多現象容易讓人迷惑和失望,我們的確永遠無法抵達真實,我們到底如何界定“真實”? 到底有多少種“真實”?這也正是這個多元世界的迷人之處,這樣我們就有“藉口”說我們所做 的一切都不是徒勞,因為我們一路在尋找。

About《Air Chrysalis 》
Air Chrysalis is a image emblematizing evil in the novel 1Q84 written by Japanese writer Haruki Murakami, which has more meanings in my interpretation. 1Q84 is a response to 1984 , a political nove, finished by the British writer, Orwell George in 1948. Thus, the spread and evolution of culture are as the same as the reproduction and evolution of life. As the gene is the copy code of body, the Mihm“ meme” is the password of culture (which is proposed by Richard Dawkins in 1976 , Selfish Gene). The acting force of the cultural gene called “meme” is the reason why human culture reproducing , propagating, evolving in human consciousness.
The topics discussed in the work of the Air Chrysalis are not " copying" , but the " evolution" in the long time of culture spreading, which likes a journey of culture archeology striding across the characters and images. During which I found the" evolution" of culture sometimes is very absurd, it is like philosopher Socrates's words: "Field and the trees did not give me a little inspiration, while the city people have given me a lot of lessons." This sentence is a failure to the anti urbanization group, but a success under Chinese high speed urbanization processprocess, which is so realistic. In reality, many phenomenas are confusing and disappointing. It seems that we can never reach the truth, how do we define "truth"? How many kinds of "truth"? This is also the charm of this multi world, which gives us an " excuse" to say that all we have done are not a vain, because we are always looking for it. －Dragon Zheng
